Working Late

I just spent the last couple of hours figuring out my time sheets for the past few weeks. It’s crazy how it gets out of control very quickly when you’re having a crisis and whatnot. Yes, I have a salary position, but we need to account for our time for billing purposes.

When I am doing well, I keep track of my time as I go throughout the day. In spite of my techno-love*, I use printouts of my Outlook Calendar to record the time, it is nicely laid out per day in half-hour increments, I just scribble all over it what I’ve done.

Fortunately, most of the time whenever I finish something I send an email to whoever requested the thing I did, which leaves a nice electronic trail in my sent folder. And some of the things I do, like creating Wincross Tables can take several hours over a couple of days.

Some days are a mystery.

I got it mostly figured out. Now I need to enter the time in our tracking program.

That said, I’m done for the day.

I am writing this at work, the last thing I do before I leave, so I can go home and NOT turn on my computer.

*I’ve tried other ways to record my time, the writing it on my daily calendar works best. It keeps all the meetings and stuff I scheduled on the calendar, which helps me further by letting me know where I was during mystery times.
