I met Peter Straub!

Peter Straub did a reading/signing at the Lincoln Square Barnes and Noble – and I was there! He read from his new book “In the Night Room” and signed everyone’s books afterwards.

It was very low-key and lots of fun. I introduced myself to his wife, said something silly about being Kevin-Bacon-six-degrees-of-separation connected to Mr. Straub because I am from Maine and I once made a balloon animal for Stephen King. (Duh, should I have mentioned that I have read almost every book Peter Straub wrote, maybe?)

He signed my new book, Edmund took this cute picture, and we tried to not look like total dorks.

Mission Accomplished?

Friday Five on Sunday

1. If your family was a television family, who would they be? Name family and/or television show. “Rosanne” Barr show family

2. If you and your friends were a television show, what show would best describe i.e. personalities and/or day-to-day relations? Will & Grace

3. What television show would best represent your life? True Hollywood Stories (what they did before they were famous)

4. What theme song would run for a television about you? May be one used by a show already or something different. “I wanna be Evil”

5. Who would you have play yourself? Friends and family? If I am not available to pay me I would suggest Queen Latifah. But still have white people as the rest of the family. With no explanation. For my father I choose Christopher Plummer, my mother Meryl Streep, my brother Bill Michael Madsen, my husband Edmund, Tom Selleck, my brother’s girlfriend Brett Butler

Weekend in New Jersey

We (Mr. & Mrs. Quinn) are now in New Jersey visiting Edmund’s parents.

We saw I, Robot earlier today, pretty good flick, Was surprised as I was not sure that I would like it. Edmund’s mother said “Asminov is not turning over in his grave.” So that’s where Ed gets it, the negative-positive comments. (Saying something negative to mean something positive.)

Hunter is having a contest, a Haiku contest, with real prizes and everything. Now if people would only enter it. I am sitting on some prizes and I want to give them away. Why? Because it will be fun, that’s all. No other reason.

Mrs. Quinn

I am now married.

Cool, eh!

We got back from our honeymoon a week ago Saturday and I worked many, many hours this week.

I have finally got the initial photos online.

Here are the Pictures that Ed’s sister Mindy took.

Here are the Pictures to our honeymoon.

More pictures coming soon.

Walking home from work tonight…

I heard a father talking to her daughter.

Very loudly, as if he were TEACHING HER A LESSON.

Telling her he could not do everything she wanted. (fair) And telling her she was very changeable.

Then he said that he loved her. In the next breath he said that no one loves someone who keeps changing.

What?

I wanted to punch him.

I am the coolest!

Or at least I feel pretty cool.

Why? Because I am a very lucky beta tester for Gmail (google.com’s free email service).

Apparently the Gmail accounts are a hot commodity right now, people are selling them on ebay (for up to $200-for a free account!)

How did I get my gmail account? Well, I use blogger.com for my many weblogs (and have had my blogger account since 2002). Blogger is now owned by google, and either I am considered an active blogger or they just decided to give the kid a chance.

Oh, and I feel cool because I am getting married two weeks from today!

Sweaty Sunday

Went to a Fundraiser for “Twisted: A Balloonamentary” last night. Was fun. I was interviewed for the movie, but only have 1.5 hours out of their 100 hours of footage. Not sure if I will make the final cut or not. (Visit their website: http://www.eliotlives.com

Getting ready to watch Six Feet Under. New season!

(Was watching Bridezilla earlier today. Very Scary.)

Have put up 2 more picture pages:

Rites of Spring 2004

Reason #456 why I love Edmund

#456

He wanted me to buy this:

And after I bought it, he said it was good.

(Apparently it looks very nice on my butt.)

Getting Married

We are getting married, aren’t we!

The wedding is looming closer and closer. I feel like I have not got everything done. GAH!

The dress I picked out is pretty awesome tho, no pix yet, you will have to wait until after the wedding. (So Edmund wont see it)

Back to Reality-Back to Bloggin’

We got back from Rites of Spring yesterday. I wish I was still in the woods in Massachusetts.

Noticed that I have not been posting much lately. Hope to do better in the coming months.

Changed the comments here to the new Blogger comments. Think I will like them in the long run, they don’t exactly pop up anymore.

Anywho…

5. What is something that you feel is relaxing but most people don’t? I don’t know. I guess I am pretty normal or something. Really.

Cleaning & Stuff

The futon of Death is now clean!!!!!!!!

ish

I woke up yesterday with a proverbial bee in my bonnet and started tackling this mountain of newspapers and books and clothes. When Edmund woke up, I got him to help.

Then we went to do laundry.

Needless to say we have not done much today.

Ickness Sickness

Edmund and I have been very sick this week.

Edmund more than me.

Feeling better now, but dry. Took some Sudafed-type-derrivative earlier, and some ibuprophren.

I can’t spell and I am too lazy to look things up.

No matter.

BTW, this is awesome, the word of the day today is:

cock-a-hoop \kah-kuh-HOOP\ adjective

*1 : triumphantly boastful : exulting

2 : awry

Example sentence:

Team members, still cock-a-hoop over last week’s victory, need to regain their focus and win one more game for the championship.

Did you know?

The adjective “cock-a-hoop” comes from a curious 16th- and 17th-century expression, “to set cock a hoop,” which meant “to be festive” or “to drink or celebrate without restraint.” Etymologists, however, are not entirely certain about the origin of that old expression. Although no one knows if it originally had any connection with the “rooster” sense of “cock,” many people thought it did — and this perceived association influenced the current meaning of “cock-a-hoop.” The cock is known for its triumphant crow, and “cock-a-hoop” is now used to refer to something triumphantly boastful.
